Hammers start fails fitness battle.

The Lakeside Hammers Finnish International Joonas Kylmakorpi has failed in his battle to get over a dislocated shoulder in time for their important Sky Sports Elite League match on Monday evening.

The Hammers face the Poole Pirates, who include in their side the current World Champion Jason Crump, at their Raceway at 7.30pm.

The match is being shown live by Sky Sports and, in an unprecedented move, the Hammers promotion are opening their door to the public and allowing everyone into their Raceway free of charge. This has been made possible by IXON, who are sponsoring the meeting.

HOOPS EDGE INTO SCOTTISH CUP FINAL

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink's double secured Celtic's place in the Tennent's Scottish Cup final - but only after they were pushed all the way by St Johnstone in a 2-1 victory.

The Dutch striker opened the scoring when he converted from the penalty spot in the 13th minute after being felled by Saints goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert.

Martin Hardie's leveller hauled St Johnstone back into the game six minutes later, but a close-range header from Vennegoor of Hesselink in the second half put Celtic through to the final.

They will now face either Hibernian or Dunfermline, who contest Sunday's second semi-final.

After the game Vennegoor of Hesselink insisted he did not go down too easily to win his first-half penalty.

It was unclear how much contact there had been, however the striker told Sky Sports 1: "I think it was a penalty but I don't know how anyone else things about that.

Sanchez confident of Fulham survival

The Northern Ireland manager took over from Chris Coleman last week for the rest of the season, and despite a defeat to Reading in his first game, he remains confident he can lead the club away from the drop zone.

I'm confident we'll be fine, Sanchez told Sky Sports.

"We will get the points. We need five points and we'll get those five points."

McCullum hails Kiwi effort

Brendon McCullum hit the winning runs against South Africa to secure New Zealand's progression to the World Cup semi-finals and then praised his side's all-round effort.

The Kiwis coasted into the last four with a five-wicket. They needed to pass only 193 for seven and did so with 10 balls to spare, on the back of half-centuries from Stephen Fleming (50) and Scott Styris (56).

"It's great that we picked ourselves up after the last game (against Sri Lanka)," McCullum told Sky Sports 2. "With the overcast conditions the toss was pretty crucial. We knew there was always going to be a window there and the way the guys bowled was fantastic, it gave us a chance to exploit it."

He added: "We've bounced back after the last game. We kept pressure on them with the ball and chasing 190 on this sort of pitch was a pleasure to do."

South Africa captain Graeme Smith told Sky Sports 2: "The first 20 overs were tough to bat in and they (New Zealand) exploited it superbly.

The Nation's Top Arena Football Betting Expert is Moving Lines in ...

Ted Sevransky, the nation's top Arena Football handicapper, is moving the line in Las Vegas anywhere from 2-6 point with his weekly AFL picks.

Brentwood, Tenn. (PRWEB) April 14, 2007 -- The nation's documented number one Arena Football handicapping expert, Ted Sevransky of Sportsmemo.com (http://www.sportsmemo.com), is creating a commotion in Vegas with the release of his weekly AFL picks.

A few select handicappers and professional bettors in the world have the ability to truly affect the line on a game, in any sport. Sevransky's plays, however, fall into that rare category having seen a tremendous amount of movement, anywhere from two to six points, each week since the start of the Arena Football season in March.

Sportsmemo.com has even had to adjust their company policy to accommodate the needs of their clients who were not able to place their bets at the number that Sevransky released with his picks as a result of the significant line movements.
