A Springfield business owner was recently recognized at the Play It Again Sports National Conference and Tradeshow, Grassroots Newswire reported.
Jeff Salyers, owner of Play It Again Sports in Springfield, received a sales excellence award at the Las Vegas event.
Play It Again Sports has more than 400 North America locations that are individually owned and operated, The store sells used and new sports and fitness gear. .
Two Boca Juniors players visit jailed hooligans
BUENOS AIRES: Two Boca Juniors players have visited a group of the teams supporters in jail where they have just begun serving sentences for their part in a riot at a game in 1999, the sports daily Ole reported on Thursday. Strikers Martin Palermo and Rodrigo Palacio autographed shirts for prison wardens before visiting the six convicted hooligans who are serving between three-and-a-half and four-and-a-half years, the report said. The players also gave shoes and clothes to the six prisoners, who are being held at a prison on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, and promised to take balls on a future visit. The prisoners are all members of the organised supporters club known as La Doce (The 12th man) who were sentenced following a riot at the game against Chacarita Juniors in 1999. They include Rafael Di Zeo, the countrys most notorious hooligan and a well-known figure who only a few weeks ago posed on the front cover of a magazine alongside a sports utility vehicle and a bikini-clad woman.

MIDDLEZOY beat Bridgwater Sports 4-2 at the airfield to end their local rivals' hopes of retaining the Silver Street VW Taunton & District Saturday league Knockout Cup.
