Tim wrote: Scott, Please comment on the current impasse going on between Fox Sports Midwest and the two satellite companies, DirecTV and Dish Network. Fox has been blacking out thousands of Cardinal fans in central Illinois, Iowa and Kentucky who have been paying to watch the Cardinal games on the dish since the start of the season. Fox wants the satellite services to offer these games for free and is withholding them. And you can't get them on the Extra Innings package either because MLB considers these areas to be part of the Cardinals' market.

Smizik on TV: KDKA sports anchor finally gets talk show
One of the more amazing things about local radio the past few years is that of all the various openings there have been for talk-show hosts, John Steigerwald never was given his own program. ESPN Radio 1250, Fox Sports Radio 970, KDKA-Radio and WPBG (NewsTalk 104.7) all have filled slots, but none went to Steigerwald. As a full-time sports anchor for KDKA-TV, Steigerwald can't work just any shift, but for someone as knowledgeable, as well-spoken and as highly opinionated as Steigerwald you'd have thought they'd find a spot. At last, someone has. WTZN-FM (93.7)/The Zone, a CBS-owned station, has given Steigerwald, who briefly did a Saturday morning show on Fox Sports Radio a few years ago, an hour every weekday at 9 a.m. "The John Steigerwald Show" is worth a listen. Steigerwald says his show is about "sports and other stuff," and sometimes the other stuff takes precedence.
Aussies confirm interest in Liverpool striker
The former England international is out of contract at Anfield in the summer, and although he wants to stay with his boyhood club, there is every chance he could be lured to Australia. "He's been discussed at boardroom and it shows how determined we are to set the benchmarks in Australian football that were serious about targeting a player of his calibre," Sydney chief executive George Perry told Fox Sports. "He's out of the top drawer and although an official approach has not yet been made, it goes without saying that if he did come to Australia it would be a huge signing for us." Comments? The Year That Was
The April Movement that ushered in a new dawn of democracy in Nepal was at its peak when the Nepalese people welcomed the New Year 2063 B.S. The King as usual delivered his routine message of New Year on the first day of Baishakh (April 14) urging the political parties fighting for the people's democratic rights for the last time to sit for the dialogues. But the message had no impact at all and the people continued to pour into the streets demanding for the restoration of Loktantra in the country. Restoration of the then dissolved House of Representatives and elections for the constituent assembly were the main demands of the April Movement. The demonstrators were not ready to accept any offer other than the restoration of the parliament so they rebuked the call of the king to nominate a consensus candidate of Prime Minister from the seven party alliances on Baishakh 8.
